From The Red Room – “One Last Love”

Here’s the first of three videos we put together yesterday showcasing songs off the new record. This tune is one of my favorites to sing, and with Austin Curcuruto & CJ Wilder, it takes it to the next level.

New Album for FREE! Live at the Envision Jazz Fest!

This past February, my Trio performed a set at the Envision Jazz Festival in Surrey, BC at the Bell Center for the Performing Arts. We recorded the set through a simple stereo microphone, and it came out great. Thanks to our good friend James Driscoll, we were able EQ the tracks and boost the levels so we could share it with you.

We were so appreciative of the support we received, and had a great time working with the students through the week. To say thank you, we’re excited to offer the album for free through our friends at BandCamp.com.

So…you, your friends, your friends friends, and even people your don’t like, can go to the below URL and download the whole concert for FREE.

We hope you enjoy it, and thanks for your support. We’ve been together as a band now over 10 years, and hope to continue to make more music for you.

Musically yours,

Tyler

Boss 2010 Loop Contest

If you’ve seen a live show, you know that I love using Boss’ Loop Pedals. Particularly their Boss RC-20XL. Well, they’re having a “loop” contest, and I’ve put a little compilation together of a few clips from live gigs. If you have a moment, take a peek. :)

A week ago I was lucky enough to be in Victoria, BC, easily one of the most beautiful places on earth. While I was there, I stopped in to speak with Arnold van Klaveren who runs a great radio program called Rhythm-a-ning which focuses almost solely on Canadian Jazz. We had a great time and it was fun talking more about our jazz release Live at the Cellar.” Thanks Arnold!.

GREAT review from the Midwest Record

GREAT review from the Midwest Record. Check it out below:

Tyler Summers Trio – Live At The Cellar

This certainly seems to be a good month for indy jazz as this crew comes back together for a new set that finds them right in the pocket throughout. Led by a sax man that can blow 200 mph licks with the best of them, it’s energy, chops and skill add up to one killer package. Impressively kicking it out on all originals, the contemporary jazzbo will be thrilled to be the first on his block to be blasting this with the windows open. Engagingly creative and heartfelt, this is a date that’s sure to grab you by the ear and not let go.
